Migraine Vs TMJ Headaches

A persistent headache is a debilitating ailment and frustrating, making it difficult to work or perform daily tasks. Headaches are especially frustrating if a medical professional can not diagnose their causes. In some cases, persistent headaches similar to migraines are best treated not by a doctor or a neurologist, but a dentist neurological.

Cause of Headaches

Headaches may occur due to many factors. The most common causes of headaches are relatively harmless, but some headaches indicate a serious condition.

If you are suffering from persistent headaches, it is important to consult a doctor and try to determine the underlying cause. Causes of headaches are:

• High Voltage Stress

• Eyestrain

• Head injury

• Neurological problems

• Tumors

A particularly severe type of headache is a migraine that is very difficult to treat. Migraines often occur with other unpleasant symptoms of headache.Nausea, visual disturbances, such as auras, and extreme sensitivity to light and noise are common side effects of migraine. Some of the migraine appear due to constriction of blood vessels in the brain. Others may be due to neurological causes. Depending on the specific symptoms and suspected cause of your headaches, your doctor may recommend a series of treatments to avoid triggers, taking different drugs.

TMD Headaches

Another type of headache that is difficult to treat headaches caused by temporomandibular joint disorders, or TMJD. Headaches occur when the TMJ is misaligned, causing a compression or irritation of the nerves craniofacial. TMJ headaches are persistent and painful and are often confused with migraines.

If you have headaches that have eluded diagnosis, or which do not respond to traditional therapy, then this can be caused  by TMJD. Neurological expert dentist can diagnose and heal your TMJD, brings relief from pain that could have been there for years.

Neurological Dentists are trained to diagnose and treat TMJD, by placing the temporomandibular joint in proper alignment and relieve stress and pressure on muscles and nerves of the face, jaw, neck and skull. Although TMD often causes headaches just as same as migraine, which also leads to other unpleasant symptoms, including:

• jaw pain

• Click on the chin

• Earache

• Pain in the neck and shoulder

If you have any of these symptoms, a neurological consultant dentist will give you a definitive diagnosis and long-term help that will releif your pain.
